Used Hatteras Boats for Sale

What changed and why
- Both Hatteras 60s the draft presented as "current inventory" are sold: the 2007 60 Convertible "Miss Wider" and the 2011 60 Motor Yacht "Change Order." As of October 28 there's no active Hatteras listing. The page now says so plainly and leads with the sold records and a buyer's broker search.
- Changed the URL. The draft URL /boats-for-sale/all/Hatteras/ returned an error on October 28 (see open items).
- Replaced generic lines ("focuses on comfort, space, and performance") with verified specs: Caterpillar power, engine and generator hours, gyros, staterooms, and equipment.
- Added a convertible vs motor yacht table and a short Hatteras vs Viking section. Those are the comparisons Hatteras buyers search for and AI answers cite.
- Flagged a cannibalization risk. The planned blog post "Used Hatteras Sportfish for Sale in Florida" targets nearly the same query as this page.
- Added internal links to sport fishing and motor yacht categories, the Viking page and blog post, sold inventory, contact, and sell.
Hatteras convertible vs Hatteras motor yacht
A convertible is a sportfish with an enclosed salon, staterooms below, and a flybridge helm, built for multi-day tournament travel. A motor yacht is a cruising boat built around living space, with a larger salon, a full-beam master, and a smaller aft deck.
| Factor | Hatteras Convertible | Hatteras Motor Yacht |
|---|---|---|
| Built For | Offshore and tournament fishing, Bahamas runs | Cruising, entertaining, and time aboard |
| Cockpit | Large fishing cockpit, often a tower and fighting chair | Smaller aft deck |
| Interior | Salon and staterooms set up for a fishing crew | Full-beam master, larger salon and galley |

What to check on a used Hatteras
- Engine hours and overhauls. Diesel hours drive value. Ask for overhaul dates and records on each engine.
- Generator and gyro hours. Check run hours on every generator and Seakeeper, and when each was last serviced.
- Safety and comfort systems. Test the fire suppression, watermaker, air conditioning, and thrusters during the sea trial.
- Survey. Have a marine surveyor check the hull and stringers and pull an oil analysis on each engine.
- Documentation. Confirm the USCG documentation and run a lien search before closing.

Frequently asked questions
As of October 28, 2026, our last two Hatteras 60s have sold and none is listed. Hatteras inventory changes quickly, so check our current Hatteras listings or ask our buyer's brokers to search for you. We look at public listings across Florida and boats owners haven't listed yet.
The two Hatteras 60s we recently sold were listed at $1,099,999 for a 2007 60 Convertible and $1,399,000 for a 2011 60 Motor Yacht. Engine hours explain much of the gap: about 7,500 on the Convertible and 1,075 on the Motor Yacht. Year, layout, and refit history matter too.
Hatteras convertibles are built for it, with large cockpits, towers, and the range for offshore and tournament fishing. Hatteras motor yachts are built for cruising and entertaining. If fishing comes first, start with a convertible and check the tower, fighting chair, outriggers, and fish boxes on the sea trial.
Both build proven offshore convertibles. Viking has a strong recent tournament following and builds in New Jersey. Hatteras has a long convertible heritage from North Carolina. Compare the specific boats in your budget on hours, layout, and survey results, since the individual boat matters more than the badge.
Ask for service and overhaul records on every engine and generator, prior survey reports, the USCG documentation or title, a lien search, and records for any refit or major repair. Your broker gathers these before the survey so the surveyor knows what's been done and what to check.
